FFWCRP The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... Aransas County in south central Texas... Central Refugio County in south central Texas... Northeastern San Patricio County in south central Texas... Southern Victoria County in south central Texas... Southwestern Calhoun County in south Texas... * Until 300 PM CDT. * At 1155 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Rockport, Lamar, Bayside, Quintana, Holiday Beach, Copano Village, Key Allegro, Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, Bonnie View, Fulton and Austwell. Information: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. |

For the Guadalupe River...including Victoria, Bloomington...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Guadalupe River at Victoria. * WHEN...From Thursday evening to Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Impact...At 21.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding occurs, as the flow exceeds the east bank into low areas of Riverside Park. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:15 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 5.7 feet. - Bankfull stage is 21.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late Thursday evening to a crest of 21.1 feet late Thursday evening. It will then fall below flood stage early Friday morning. - Flood stage is 21.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 21.3 feet on 03/16/1992. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Information: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. For the Guadalupe River...including Victoria, Bloomington...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Guadalupe River near Bloomington. * WHEN...From Thursday evening to Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...Impact...At 20.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding occurs, with the flow reaching the right flood plain near the Invista Plant near Bloomington. Downstream above Highway 35, the flow escapes into the left flood plain cutting off the lowest homes. Impact...At 24.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding occurs, with the river reaching well into the flood plain. Any oil tank batteries, pump jacks, and secondary roads near the river may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 11.6 feet. - Bankfull stage is 20.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late Thursday evening to a crest of 22.9 feet late Friday evening. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of south Texas, including the following areas, Aransas Islands, Bee, Calhoun Islands, Coastal Aransas, Coastal Calhoun, Coastal Kleberg, Coastal Nueces, Coastal Refugio, Coastal San Patricio, Duval, Goliad, Inland Calhoun, Inland Kleberg, Inland Nueces, Inland Refugio, Inland San Patricio, Jim Wells, Kleberg Islands, La Salle, Live Oak, McMullen, Nueces Islands, Victoria and Webb. * WHEN...Through Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - The combination of a moist tropical airmass, a stalling front, and a broad area of low pressure over eastern Mexico will result in heavy rain. Isolated pockets with rain totals of 6-8 inches or more are possible with rain rates that could exceed 2-4 inches per hour at times. There is an increased danger to lives and property due to flash flooding.
